Fun fact about Richmond...

Do you know a petition was signed so a Woodward's store could be built in Richmond?

A citizen like Gwen Abrams was vocal during a public meeting in 1973 that "women of Richmond want Woodward's. We want $1.49 Day" and presented a petition with more than 10,000 signatures, according to the Richmond Museum.

At the next municipal election, there was an overwhelmingly positive vote for the development of Lansdowne Shopping Mall, which included a Woodward's store.
